The only way I can see my list of contacts is to select the Phone icon then select Contacts. When I select Contacts it appears Contacts:Status with a message "No recent status updates". I have verified contacts are not hidden. Also went to menu> Display Group > All contacts and they still do not show up here.

Try long pressing an empty part on the screen, select folders, then all people. Click on your new folder. Then if your contacts show up, save them to sim. Hope that works.
