Help Contacts picture: some small some large? [Jelly Bean]

Dunno why but some Contacts pictures are big (using all available space), some are smaller, regardless the picture being used....
Still didn't workout a pattern for this behavior.... maybe pictures from Google+ contacts are "full frame" by design?
Any hint on how to use all available space???

Yup, G+ pics are high res and fill up the available space. For the rest, use this app.
