Contacts search doesn't open soft keyboard

Hello!

While in the Phone/Contacts app, I LOVE the search button to open the contacts search box. However, when I press the button, it doesn't automatically open the soft keyboard and I have to first press in the input box. Is there any way to make it automatically open the soft keyboard? It's not a major issue, but it's a slight nuisance.

I'm running a rooted Droid with Froyo (FRG01B, manually updated).

just press the search button from your home screen. It will pull up your keyboard and search your contacts automagically

i'm mildly annoyed at this change too, but whatever. i suppose i'll live.
