Help Contacts storage and backing up

Pizan00

Lurker
I have had a lot of difficulty with my Galaxy S4 phone having some of the contacts disappearing. I will be changing to an S7 shortly.
I have tried restoring from a backup, but it seems that it doesn't always work.
I'm thinking that part of the problem is choosing the best storage location as I wasn't consistent with where they were stored before. (Microsoft exchange server, device, or the SIM card)
I have a lot of my contact information in my Hotmail account but I have a gmail account if that info helps.

My question is: where is the best location to save contacts in order to not lose them in the future. So I'm able to back them up or at least have them in another location and not have to guess who owns which numbers.

Any advice is appreciated.
Thank you.

Try Super Backup Pro, it will Backup your contacts daily if needed. This way you will not lose any contacts. I had the same issue on my Moto G with no explanation.

When I migrated back to Android from Windows Phone I just imported all my contacts into my Gmail account. They sync both ways and if you have to reset your phone or you get a new phone they'll be right there where you left them.

Then gmail it will be. Might take me a little to transfer them in there, but worth it for no further troubles.

Thanks everyone.
