Long time iPhone user here, just picked up an HTC 10 during their sale and transferred my contacts from iCloud into contacts.google.com, and life is good.
So the contact photos didn't come over from iCloud, which is just fine - I can re-download them individually. However, when I upload a contact pic that's 1000x1000, the photo that ends up syncing to the phone is terrible quality - you can easily see the artifacting and pixelation when viewing the contact photos on the phone itself.
A quick Google search shows that this is a long-running issue with no real clarity on a resolution. There are references to some apps (HaxSync, for example), but nothing solid, and most of these apps haven't been a thing since 2014 or so.
Anyone have any thoughts? It's a shame to have this quad-HD screen when incoming images look so horrible. Thanks all!
