Contacts!

Hey guys, I'm trying to do some contact organization, but I'm really struggling with this. My contacts were all on my SIM, and I would like them to be stored to my phone I guess? so that I can sync them with Facebook etc. and store them in groups. What's the best way to do this?

First of all you havn't stated what type of phone you have. Also do you have your google email account set up for your android account so you can access market place? The reason why I ask is because I recommend your contacts to be stored in your email not the phone so that they are synced with your online account as a backup but will still act normally in your phone as contacts.

HTC Aria, and yes I have my Gmail account synced. Is there a way to transfer my existing contacts from SIM to Google then? Or do I just have to go into Gmail and re-type them in 1 by 1?

Nevermind, I figured it out. Just had to hit menu in contacts, then import from SIM. That darn menu button is always hiding

When you import your contacts from sim make sure you import them to google not phone otherwise they will not be synced and always store new contacts to google so they will be synced too.

Or export as CSV from Outlook and import into gmail. If you're looking to sync regularly with Outlook then definitely use a sync app.
