hit menu and touch display group and choose phone contacts or google or whatever

Other people have complained about that. Once I set mine to Google contacts, when I go into contacts it is ALWAYS only my Google contacts (even after a reboot). I can change it to All, or Facebook, and it remembers that choice too.
Maybe it's because I originally put my contacts into GMail (imported from my LG Dare via a BitPim CSV file) before I bought my 1st Android phone. Not sure, but I've never had the "All contacts" problem others have with the Droid X.
How did you get your contacts on to the phone? Did Verizon transfer them for you, or did you just log into your GMail account and they were there?
