Continue last played music

Hello,

Recently got SGS2 (which I love) but there is just one thing bugging me at the moment (well a few things really, battery being a big part, but thats another story). Basically I listen to music on it quite a bit, to and from work etc but it is bothering me that I can't continue last played, I guess that this is because when you exit an app it automatically shuts the app down and so it just starts again from the beginning when it is opened up, which is fine, obviously to save battery etc. But my question is, is there a way to continue last played on stock music app or is there an alternative music player anyone can suggest that will stay on last played when reopening?

Yes, do not exit the app. Hit the home button instead of the back button and the player stays in memory. You will then see a symbol on the notifications. If you pull down the notifications while you are in some other app you can play pause, skip forward and back right from there with out going back to the player.

ie. Get in the habit of using home button - means apps are still open in memory, while back button shuts them down. Since everything is in operating memory when loaded the system then manages it by itself from that point on. That means it will close down the least used app to make way for the new one if needed. Since you are still running the player it won't shut that one down. Actually the S2 has a lot of system memory (837MB0 so you have to have a lot of stuff open before it even needs to unload anything.

Give it a try!!

Thanks for quick reply DaveSyd. The thing is I do always use the home button to exit out of it. If I have paused the music when I get into work, then hit the home button it closes it down, I look in task manager and it's not there. Then I go back into it and it starts from scratch again. It obviously stays open when I hit the home button when left playing though. But when I look in my task manager (long hold home, select task manager) it says there are no running apps. Does this mean there is a setting somewhere that I have altered to make the home button close down instead of "minimize" the task, as no matter what I use when I hit home on an app and check task manager a couple of seconds after, the app closes?

I just tried it again & it doesn't work that way for me. I switched back to player and it is paused where I left it. It's still there and I can pick up where I left off.

The only thing I can think of is you have some kind of power saving, task killing utilities that are culling background tasks .... I don't know. Very curious!
