Continuous input keyboard not as good as it used to be

I've had my Samsung S3 for about 18 months and the continuous input feature has always been ok for me.

But recently it has become pretty useless. It has stopped suggesting custom words (such as my surname) and rather than "you" it suggests "toy".

"Ok" becomes "Okay", etc.

It's as if they've changed the algorithm or lost a patent battle and been forced to remove the 'clever' stuff during a recent update.

Has anybody else noticed this?

I haven't been using Samsung firmwares and keyboards for a long time now. However, Google Keyboard is quite good and it's my favourite one so far.

Thanks to both of you. I'll check them out. But I am still puzzled as to why the functionality would suddenly get worse?
