Continuous location sharing problems.

I have a Galaxy S7 Edge, (I don't think this pays into my problem) and my partner has a Galaxy S9.
We share our locations with one another, and are both also on the same lookout mobile security account to locate, lock, and wipe our devices should they ever be stolen.
The problem is , they can see me consistently, but I consistently cannot see them in google maps location sharing, nor will their phone show it's location for me using lookout mobile security.

The seems to be rather random, but frequent. I was looking at their phone, and noticed a message in google maps, "location not being shared" or "Location not updating" or something like that with a "fix" link to the right.
Once I clicked the "fix" link, (button) suddenly they appeared on my google maps location sharing.
it worked fine for a day or so and now we are back to them becoming invisible in both maps and lookout mobile security.
I've turned location on, set it to high accuracy, calibrated it, and restarted their phone, but still not matter what i do a some point their phone will disappear from google location sharing.
Any ideas on how to permanently fix this, or what it's cause might be, and why it appears random?
Thanks!

just an fyi......you do not need lookout for what you want. samsung has their own feature built in.....as long as you have a samsung acct you will be able to lock and locate your phone if it is lost or stolen.

as for your main question, i have no idea i have not played around with those features.......so i'm not sure. maybe try and clear cache and data for google maps and see if that helps. i would do it on both phones just in case.
