Contracts and buying a new EVO at full price.

I'm new to sprint with my EVO and still weighing to cost/benefit to insurance. I usually like to update my phone as soon as possible, so for the most part I see the benefit to not paying for insurance. The question remains is what if I needed it replaced. I'm not big on the idea of receiving a refurbished phone.

Let's say my phone was lost or stolen 6 months from now. If I had no insurance I'd be required to buy the replacement phone outright at full price. So, does my contract still contain only the remaining 18 months or does it start over from the time I purchase the replacement?

18 months unless you buy out the contract at $200

Your best bet is to pay full price for the phone if you don't want to buy the insurance.
