Help contrast issue

My note 8 updated last night - and now the calendar appearance and (some of-) my text color-contrast is Not right (-see pix) After reading some other Pie-posts, I am thinking this is because of Theme usage - and I should no longer use themes ??? Or is something else, maybe, causing these issues?

yeah i'm trying to replicate it on my note 8 and could not. maybe try a different theme?
