Controller Connectivity

I've seen various videos showing ps3 controller connected with a S3. I searched but I couldn't find any info how to do it. Anyone know how to connect Dualshock3 with a S3?

Thanks

only works on rooted s3
The Sixaxis controller app only works on rooted phones?

If so then you might be better off buying a USB OTG adapter from eBay and trying to connect the controller directly to the phone and see if it detects it.

Thanks for help

I tried the trial version of sixaxis controller app and yes it required root access.

What's USB OTG adapter? Is it a USB cable which both ends are micro usb?

You have two options:

1. Buy yourself a simply usb otg (on the go) cable, which is a micro usb to regular usb cable and then connect your ps3 controller to that cable via the usb cable that came with the ps3. Unless a micro usb to mini usb cable works? Don't know. If it does that is just one cable to deal with instead of two.
- but games like Dead Trigger, Riptide GP, Shadowgun and I believe GTAIII work with a stock controller (must be a stock sixaxis ps3 controller! Can't be an aftermarket one.)

2. Root your phone, download sixaxis app from google play, bt sync your controller and have the option to play thousands of games wirelessly. All NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gameboy, etc... Type games work with it. This is the best option imo. I have this setup. Only small downside is games like NOVA3 require you to remap buttons specific to that game and save the file as a .map within the sixaxis app.

Thanks, mainly I play N64 games and SNES games so a controller working with them is more important to me. I'm not planning to root my phone soon. So is way 1 works with N64 games? If it not, then what kind of controller can I use? What should I buy?
