Root Cool and must-have rooted apps

Hey guys, I just rooted my Kyocera Rise, and I'm really excited!
I don't understand much about rooted lingo, like roms for example, and would love an explanation.
I would like to get some cool apps and stuff for my phone, but I don't know where to start.
Please help me!

Well... I hate the term ROM.

But OS Images, or downloadable/installable Android OS's, and recovery images, can NOT be used with the Rise.

As far as apps: titanium backup, no frills CPU control, ES File Explorer.

I thought root was like the jailbreak on apple stuff. There's no special app store with free games, or a cydia style app?

There's all sorts of third party app stores with stuff on there, and all sorts of free games. Rooting is much more than just unlocking free apps, it allows actual administrator-level access to the fiel system.

Just put the OS in write only memory, problem solved.
