Help Copy & paste on Tab2 7.0 p3113?

I bought the Samsung epl-1plobegxar usb adapter that works fine with the 7.0 tablet.

My problem with it is, when Itry to copy files or folders to the ext sd card in the tablet from the usb flash drive plugged into the adapter, instead of putting another copy there, it removes it from the flash and tranfers it to th ext sd card.

I'm using the stock "my files" that came with the tab. The only option that I found was to tap on the folder, hold & drag it over to the left column and drop it into the ext sd card!

Does anyone know how to copy & paste, instead of it just transfering the folder from one storage device to another, which I don't want it to do?

BTW the tablet is running JB 4.1.

I use the app File Manager HD from the Play store. I can either copy OR cut (move), as well as copy files to/from other computers on my local network.
