Corporate Sync, Droid2, Android 2.3.3

I am having difficulty setting up Corporate sync on my droid with my company. I get a generic 'Login to the account failed, please try again' error when trying to setup Corporate sync.

Even if I uncheck 'Enable SSL' I still get a message stating that the certificate is not trusted. We are using a self-signed certificate. Then I get the 'Login to the account failed, please try again' error.

I downloaded touchdown's free 30 day trial application. I filled in all of the required information, if I have 'Use Secure connections' checked off with 'Service Certificate Verification' set to AutoDetect and only 'ActiveSync' checked off for protocols.

Log:

Checking Certificate... Checking to see if server is self-signed: https://....
Server cert is not trusted, setting accept all certs
Checking ActiveSync with SSL...
ActiveSync location returned HTTP code 403: Forbidden
ActiveSync version check returned negative, but still trying for 12.1

We have gotten this to work on an iPhone at this point. Any information or assistance in setting this up would be wonderful.

~Edit

Got the account to sync up using touchdown and exchange 2007 mode, not sure why active sync isn't working still.
