Corrupted Gallery

Hi guys. I made a blunder and I should have known better! I've a Galaxy S4 and had a great sports streaming app downloaded from Playstore. However, recently Playstore ditched the app (presumably for licencing reasons) and it stopped working. So doofus here decided to download it direct from the website along with Adobe Flash from Adobe Archive, and somewhere along the line (unsurprisingly ) I've picked up a bug. It seems to only be affecting my "Gallery " which is pretty screwed. When i scroll down through an album I get a dozen pictures down, and the picture boxes grey out. Then all the albums grey out and the whole app freezes. I've erased all possible offending apps, and a virus scan comes back clean. Any suggestions would be very welcome :)

If you uninstalled the offending app, ran a valid antiviral and used a good cleanup utility and still have the problem, you may need to re-install the OS (if that's possible), in which case you might lose all personal data and apps. Before doing anything drastic, look up Samsung's knowledge base or support page for options. Look in your manual to see if there is a reset button (use a toothpick or large paper clip), which may or may not help.

BTW: Never, never, NEVER install Adobe "updates" from any site except Adobe. Miscreants and other victims of failed parenting use Adobe, Java, WMP and the like for exploitation. If you open a page and are prompted to "update" one of these apps, don't even click on the exit icon [x]. Instead, press Return or shut down your device then restart. Other deceitful warnings include recommendations to update drivers, speed up "slow" systems, etc.

Before going and doing a Factory reset have you gone to the settings/apps and cleared cache from your gallery app? This may resolove your issue with no further action needed.
