Former Apple employee Phil Kearney – who worked on the AirPort Extreme, AirPort Express and Time Capsule at Google – just wrote an article on Gizmodo about the potential of Google buying Palm. The underlying motive? Acquisition of patents:So what could motivate Apple to want to sue HTC? I’m in agreement with those who theorize [...]

WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWZERS!!!! android software + palm software + HTC body = a true test for domination me thinks!!

Maybe for the patents and since their market cap is cheap. What a horrible company though. Poorly managed, just awful cash flow and balance sheet.

No I think palm just waited too long to write web os.

I wonder what a webos tablet would be like...

Yes my plan of google buying palm and suing apple out of business may yet come to fruition muahahahahahahahahahahaha

I am with IOWA here....they dominated PDA's. we had two Palms personally. they just waited way too long to catch up to what everyone was already doing and put way too much in to mobile windows. not poorly managed, just made a decision and stuck with it and it turned out to be the wrong decision.

Ya. Palm fell behind. They used to be the PDA world as far as most people were concerned (myself included).

As for whether Google could buy Palm: of course they could. Palm stock is being valued at $0. I could probably buy Palm! ;p

They can still bounce back. They need to put webos on a device worth buying.

Webos in itself is simply amazing.

how about an Android? if these 2 could find a way to mix i SWEAR this phone would crush the rest. anybody agree? i understand the unlikeliness but we can dream.

I'm sorry, but if you don't think Palm is poorly managed, then you just don't know what to look for in a company's 10-K, footnotes, capital structure and cash flow.

Bone from U2 will be pissed , I believe he owns a big chunk of Palm, (51% ?? not sure) or am I mistaken here ? I have read other discussions that Google or Nokia might be interested, Nokia sure does need something done about Symbian lol

I would be ok with Nokia buying palm too. They made some awesome phones and web OS is sweet. I really liked the pre but just couldn't quite love it. Now with Nokia behind the internals that would be an awesome combo.
