Help Couldn't turn week-old phone on... at all!

I finally got the thing back on, but it sure was a frustrating morning! Phone was fully charged (and off the charger) at bedtime. When I woke up, it was flashing a blue light (like there were notifications, etc.), but when I went to hit the power button to turn it on, nothing happened. I held the power button in for 10-15 seconds at least. Still nothing. Tried this a few times... tried not to panic...

Ultimately, a battery pull did the trick... after I struggled to get the case and the back off for a bit. But I'm wondering what happened/why it seemed to just kind of "die" on me. I've had it for exactly one week, so I was a bit concerned. Here's the other odd thing. The battery was at about 85 percent.

Anybody else experience this, and is there something I did wrong or could do to avoid this in the future?

Hello omahatian. Are you using the stock launcher? Sometimes 3rd party launchers won't play nice with the system (such as the screen sleep/lock feature) unless you go into the stock TouchWiz and clear cache and data, then reboot. Installation of launchers should raise a prompt upon first reboot asking which one to use as default, then advising the data clearing of the stock launcher in App Manager).

If you're on the stock launcher, I'd still "start over" with it by doing that cache and data clear, and maybe even a factory data reset (following a backup of your needed stuff).

Thanks for the reply. Using the stock launcher. Can't imagine needing to do a FDR after one week, but I will try the cache and data clearing. I hope this was a first and last time!
