Root Couple of questions abt Froyo to GB & De/odexed versions

Hello,

I'm currently running simple rooted Froyo and want to move to the rooted GB. I understand that I need to use the pre-rooted 2 part files but have a couple of questions before I do the upgrade...

First of all, do I need to SBF to a completely stock non rooted Froyo before I do the rooted GB upgrade?

Secondly, I know this is a dumb question but I'm not sure where to find a simple answer. What's the difference in deodexed and odexed and what does it mean to me, an end user in terms of phone experience? I'd love to know more about which does what and why I'd want one over the other.

If you plan on applying any themes you must use the deodexed version. If not odexed is fine and supposedly runs a bit faster, though it is so slight I don't think anyone could notice. Just passing on what I've read.

You need to be rooted to apply this leak. Droblyer covered the deodex well

If you have done anything to your phone other than root for the sake of root apps then you don't need to SBF. If however, you have applied the maderstock.zip, restored a nandroid, removed bloat then yes, you will need to SBF. If you froze apps unfreeze them.

The 2 part update is only a patch so that's why you need everything 'stock'
