Help Couple things

After coming from the original Motorola Droid straight to the Razr Maxx...it's been a culture shock of greatness. A few pet peeves of mine are the vibration strength and the ear piece volume. With my old phone I always knew if I was getting a text message. Now I have to physically hold it in my hand or set it on a hard counter-top to know if I get a text message from the very weak vibrate. Secondly the ear piece volume doesn't seem to adjust when I press the button while the screen is OFF, and even when it is full volume, it still seems to not be enough.

I have recently rooted and I was wondering if there is a way to tweak this for a more noticeable vibrate and louder ear piece volume?

I got a text messing app called handscent. You can set the vibration to long (which is what I use). I had chomp before and you can do the same thing with it. I hated the short vibrations. Either app is good for what you are wanting to do.
