CPU and chipset ?

hello android users
i'm getting a android phone with a low budget , and now i'm thinking optimus one vs galaxy ace . i know galaxy ace maybe slightly better or the other way around , but what i'm wondering is :
Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 vs. LG Optimus One P500 - GSMArena.com
they seem to have the same "chipset : Qualcomm MSM7227 " but the galaxy's cpu is faster.

does this mean that by overcloking optimus one they can have the exact speed with no side effetcts ?

same question for optimus net but his chipset is appearently different :
LG Optimus Net vs. LG Optimus One P500 - GSMArena.com

The CPU and the chipset are not the same part. The Optimus one and Galaxy ace both use the Qualcomm chipset and they both have ARM processors. The difference is one has a 800 MHz process and the other has a 600MHz processor.

The chipset is an IC or group of ICs that interface with the processor to communicate with the rest of the phone.

Similar to a PC. You can have a motherboard running the same chipset to interface with the IDE drives or RAM but have different Intel processor speeds.

I hope this helps.
