hey guys i recently built my first PC and i checked in my bios that my temp went up to 65C and i have no idea what the regular temp should be for this cpu, can anyone help me out?

i have a amd phenom x4 quad core 9750....if other info is needed please let me know, thanks

Specs say 61C max, so 65C is definitely on the high side!

What cooler are you using on the CPU? Is it correctly attached to the mount i.e. clipped securely at both points?

Is the fan spinning when the power is applied?

If you fitted an aftermarket cooler, did you apply thermal paste to it before fitting?

What motherboard is it installed in, btw?

thanks for the response, I didn't think I would get one since its a noob question lol

anyways I changed the CPU fan today and its running at a constant 39-41C so I think I'm ok now, but like I said I really do appreciate the response

Anyone who has built their own rig had to be a "noob" the first time, so you're in good company. ;)

That's more like it. My own X4 965 idles at around 12-14C above the ambient room temp. Have you checked the temp under load yet? That will confirm that your cooling solution is working properly.

1st gen of Phenom is usually higher in temp then new gen
same as Slug for me "Phenom II x4 965 BE"(so around 32-37c)
full load morelike 45-50c
but again i have "OCZ Vendetta 2" installed :)
