CPU Usage and Battery Usage

What is the best program for showing how much CPU time a app has used, and for how much battery percentage a app has used?

What is the best program for showing how much CPU time a app has used,

No idea. Doesn't really interest me, TBH. But maybe I'm wrong. Why do you want to see how much CPU time an app has used?

and for how much battery percentage a app has used?

I use 'Batterywatch'. It's free and in the market.

I also use 'Advanced Task Killer' two or three times a day to kill all the apps dead. Yes, I know they come back up after a couple minutes, but nevertheless my battery life has improved enormously since I do that.

Why do you think whether it interests you is relevant? This isn't your thread.

In any case, try Watchdog. I think there are other options but I don't recall them off the top of my head.

For troubleshooting. Same sort of reason you'd look at what applications and processes are tying up the CPU on your PC.

If that's the case you have a bad app (or apps) you need to deal with. Task killers aren't best practice for dealing with battery issues. They can and do adversely affect battery life as well. However, if you can't give up the problem app(s) then the task killer is probably your only recourse.

cpu usage per app should interest you if you want to save battery life ;)

+1 for system panel, and +1 on takeshi's advice too

Takeshi, can you explain what you mean by a bad app. I also am having a problem with programs running in the background that won't shut off after I close them. I am brand new to the smartphones so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.
