oh man, what a bummer to an awesome night.
just got out of the sauna (first time we used it even!!) at home and dropped my G2 on the tiles. slipped out of my hand :(
it landed just perfect for the screen to totally crack, and its not responding to any touches, anywhere on the screen.

what steps can i take to get the info off the phone?
any apps and saved games?

i can plug in the usb cable and get any pics off but not sure how to do the rest.
all suggestions welcome please i'm totally bummed out :(

All of your apps are synced to your google account, all of the apps you got from the google play store anyways.

@vgchat is right ... to a point. If you have your phone set to backup apps and data to Google, then your apps would automagically reinstall with a new phone and *some* of the settings would come back. App data like game positions probably wouldn't, nor would email or text messages. Unless you had backups, they can't be pulled off the phone.

You could always just fix the phone. The parts are under $50 and there are loads of how to videos on YouTube.

thanks for the info.
i've ended up getting it fixed in town. be ready tomorrow.
fixing a broken screen in sweden is expensive, $200 when all said and done!!

how can i make sure that saved games are loaded with the apps when i switch phones?
been playing some games for a year and would hate to loose the progress?

will be backing up my sms now too :)

thanks!

Some games offer online backups so you can log in from anywhere at the same place in the game. Some games over-protect themselves so much that backups are next to impossible. It's really going to depend on the games.

For non-rooted users I'd recommend Helium. Most rooted users use Titanium (myself included). For text messages, try SMS Backup & Restore.
