Help Cracked Note 2 after 16 days!! smh

LYTE

Newbie
:-( Last week, 16 days after purchasing my Note 2, it fell on the nyc pavement. Glass cracked & it looks awful to be a new phone
:-(
Sprint wants $200 Samsung wants $179.70. Now granted that the phone was a few months old, I wouldnt be hesitating spending this money.
Im wondering if anyone know any places in the city of NY that will fix it & only charge me for service if I come in with the screen?

most places say that they dont have the parts for it yet:-(

I have Sprint's version. Thanks in adv:

Can't offer any real help but I would do it myself, but im sure they would happily charge just for labor if you brought in your own part. That sucks, best of luck!

Aren't the glass and the LCD glued together on this phone? The reason everyone it quoting you around $200 is probably due to them replacing the whole Glass/LCD unit. You might end up doing the same after you damage the LCD trying to separate it from the glass.

Most places say they don't have the parts in yet is true- they don't.
I'm guessing you don't have insurance cause you skipped right over that question already asked.
I wouldn't attempt such a repair- I always end up with parts left over.
IMO, Samsung or Sprint is the better option. You'll get your phone back knowing it works. $180-200 is nothing compared to $650 for a new one.

I do have insurance, that's why Sprint(Asurion)is saying $200. If I didnt, I would just have a cracked phone. Im strongly against doing it myself. I rather buy the parts & let a store do it for me. I removed a screen for a BB but that was very easy & it was a 2ndary phone. I know Im going to end up doing it but It is hard to cough up 200 for a phone that I just paid 349 for. It is Xmas season too you know:(

Did you have a case on your phone?
nope. I dont put cases on my phones BUT i was for this 1. First time in 8years that I ever broke a screen on a phone from my error. Just the stores didnt have any sense it is a fairly new phone. I had to order it. My case came the following Tues(12/5)

isn't the deductable for Asurion just $100?

What about square trade? I think you can still get coverage in the first 30 days. Their site says $6.95 per month and $100 deductible...
