Good Morning,
Hoping someone will be able to help me.
I have an LG G2 that has been causing me some problems recently; basically I put my phone into my pocket and have managed to crack the screen from the bottom right (looks like there was some sort of impact there) right the way across to about an inch up from the bottom left. This has left the majority of the screen completely unresponsive despite still coming on when pressing the unlock button on the back.
Due to the phone causing me a few issues and a new upgrade coming soon, I decided to sell the phone for spares/repairs and use an old phone until my upgrade is due. Upon trying to factory reset the phone using the buttons on the back I have realised it won't work.
Basically, I press and hold volume down and power key until the LG logo appears, I release power button before pressing again whilst still holding volume down. The instructions I've read state that the option will then appear for factory reset, however my phone just turns itself back off again as if the volume down button was not being pressed.
I'm a bit concerned as to how I can reset the phone ready for its new owner.
When plugging the phone into my computer it only registers as a media device that I can drag and drop media onto because I can't select anything else on the screen.
I have been told that a OTM USB may assist me by enabling me to use a mouse on the screen to select settings and factory reset that way; however I've never even heard of one of these so have no idea if it'd work.
Many thanks for your help.
