So my wifes Note 8 has some cracking in the glass on the front screen. Basic repair. I have done tons of screen replacements on older Samsung galaxy phones and it is very basic repair work. The note 8 has the glass backing so I dont want to mess with it so I filed the $29 claim with Asurion (I have verizon) and I take it to uBreakIfix to get repaired. 2 hours later they call me and said they "cant complete the repair because the fingerprint sensor on the back doesnt work." & "based off Samsungs stringent testing requirements we cant replace the front screen if the fingerprint sensor doesnt work and the fingerprint sensor isnt covered by Asurion"

I replied with "okay but I dont care about the fingerprint sensor. That's why my claim was for the front screen only. I dont care what Samsungs "stringent testing requirements are" It's my phone and I don't give a shit about the fingerprint sensor just fix the part that is covered by my insurance"

They wouldnt do it.

Now what do I do?????? Do I have any other options? This is a joke.

uBreakIFix just doesnt want to do the work because since they cant fix the fingerprint sensor, they cant make money off me by only completing the work covered by insurance.

You can replace the screen yourself or find another shop.

You can send it into Sammy and they can replace it.

You can sell the phone for parts and use those funds to get a note 8 or note whatever ... :)

The reason Asurion's rep company won't do it is because they put a year warranty on the phone. I have the note 8 and had the same thing happen. I replaced my screen. Asurion came to my place of work.. Later this year when my Bluetooth malfunctioned, Verizon had Asurion replace it because they had their year long warranty on it. So, if the fingerprint sensor is broken on your phone, they would have to fix it because they warrenty the entire phone for a year after the screen repair. Let us know how it goes.

How did you replace your screen? Was it the front screen?

That doesn't seem right because the note 8 never had a screen fingerprint isn't it in the back?

the sensor is on the back. you misunderstood the OPs post. asurion won't touch his phone as they say because the fingerprint sensor is inoperable....

The asurion guy came over to my work and took my phone across the street to the pizza place and repaired it there while I worked. It was the front.

So how do I get Asurion to do my repair for me and fix the front? Or are you calling him the "Asurion guy" but its really just the outsourced repair guy (ubreakifix etc type companies)
