Cracked screen - Yea insurance!

Well this happened to my S3 today:

Just got thru filing my claim on the Asurion website. I'll have a 'sorta' new S3 tomorrow. I have no idea how it happened. I had it in my shirt pocket as always. I didn't fall, get hit, or bump into anything. I just pulled it out to use it and saw the screen.

I see people post these pictures occasionally and my heart always sinks. Guess I'm a member of that elite club now...dang it!

Did you happen to have a screen protector on it (not that it would have made a difference here)?

From the looks of things, it is from some type of pointed object given the "hole" and the radiant breaks.

You got a bullet hole in your screen from it being in your pocket?

Yes, I have a Spigen Ultra Clear Nano installed. I think that's the only thing keeping pieces of my screen from falling off. At the center point (gunshot hole) I can feel roughness thru the screen protector. Other than that it's smooth feeling and touch operation is flawless.

Yea, I still have no idea how it happened. I work for FedEx, and maybe a corner of a box pressed against the screen as I was carrying it. I handled nothing heavy, sharp edged, or pointy in the hour and a half between lunch (when it was fine) and when I noticed it.
I've been carrying it screen out in my pocket since I saw sweat on the screen of my DX once, but I guess I'll start carrying it screen in again.

I gotta give it to Asurion. Less than 24 hours after I filed a claim I had a NEW S3. Now I just gotta get the new one 'like I like it'.
