Craigslist phone :)

Well my sidekick 4g finally boot looped to death. Caught me at a bad time too, so I've been forced into purchasing a phone off of Craigslist. I bought a HTC mytouch 3g. When buying it the phone seemed in perfect condition, though my SIM from the sidekick 4g isn't being recognized by the phone. Tried cleaning with alcohol with no improvement.
The phone was factory restored before I picked it up as well.
Could anyone shed some light on this?

I bought a t mobile samsung g2 from someone on craigslist in feb and I did not have t mobile before so he put his sim in the phone to verify it worked before I bought it.

Now knowing what I know I would never buy one that I or they didnt put the sim in to verify it.
