Crazy book value

As we've gone through my mom's house, we've found plenty of things that my sister and I left behind when we moved out. Among them is this first edition of Mr. Nimoy's book, "I Am Not Spock." It's got a few marks on the edge of the cover, but the binding isn't even cracked.

Imagine my shock when I peruse eBay to find that it's worth at least $150...for a paperback. Makes me wonder what it was worth before Mr. Nimoy left us...

Wondering what something is worth before the artist that made is has died, is highly illogical.

If anything has gone out of production, there are always a few hoarders who make intelligent guesses as what to save, and then charge the highest price the traffic will bear.

I've see a $50 cutting die jump to over $200 when the original company discontinued the die. No reason books should be any different.
