Help Crazy Google Music issue

Lurker
Hi, I've tried searching for other forum posts with a similar issue, but it's so specific I didn't really know what to look for!

I've uploaded quite a lot of my own mp3s to Google Play Music servers and on the web app from my desktop computer, they all play fine.

Buuut, on the app on my Nexus 5, it's doing this really strange thing where it's mixing up two songs.

Now, I don't know if this is just an isolated incident, as I've not listened to every mp3 through my phone, but I've only discovered it once.
So:
  • a) I upload several albums at different times. In the first batch is the song 'Mono - The Last Dawn' (track 6 on the respective album).
  • b) Most recently, I uploaded the new Godspeed You! Black Emperor album including the song 'Asunder Sweet' (track 3 on the respective album)
The problem) When I select (b) through my phone, it instead plays (a). From within the app, the information for (b) shows even though (a) is playing. But from the notification bar, I see the info for (a) - see attached screenshot.

The files are unique on my computer and on the Google server (verified by them playing correctly through the web player).

They're different file sizes, with unique metadata, I've even selected them as 'incorrect matches' on the Google service so that it definitely uploads my mp3s and doesn't just match them.

I've also tried refreshing my library through the app, rebooting the phone, deleting both albums and re-uploading, uninstalling the Google Music app and clearing all caches and data then reinstalling.

No luck. The only thing (I think) I've discovered is that the most recently uploaded of the two songs is the one that appears to overwrite the other...

It'd driving me a bit mad, any ideas??!

Edit
Device: Nexus 5
OS: Android 5.1
Music version: v5.8.1836R.1787745

Interesting enough I have the same phone android version and play music app and just loaded a bunch of songs and everything plays fine and displays correctly. Do you have any music on the phone itself? I do not

I had some on there prior to reinstalling the app, although nothing I'd moved over manually - just stuff that was pinned/downloaded/synced or whatever they call it.

But now I have nothing on the phone itself, and it's still happening. It's just very weird that it only seems to be these two specific songs, and I've uploaded other stuff since that's fine.

That made me think it must be a music-matching thing initially, but I've forced it to manually upload my mp3s rather than matching and also it all works fine on the Google Music web player.

Just really, really strange

Thanks for the reply. If i do that, then the remaining don't plays correctly. But it's a bit abutting having to delete one

Actually my last post was wrong. If I delete the song that's overwritten the other, the overwritten song doesn't revert back.
