Crazy roommate situations?!

I know I'm not the only person with some fascinating live-in stories! I just escaped from my craziest situation I've been in so far. For ten months, I rented a room from a woman with almost thirty cats and four dogs. But surely, someone else has lived with crazier things than that. So let's hear some horror stories and be reminded it could always be worse lol

why would you live move in .. in the first place?
I see / smell over 5 cats.. I aint coming back.

in college.. 2nd year. I moved in with 3 buddies from Highschool. 2 bedrooms.
more and more people started to hangout and crash at the place.
some even moved it....
at one point.. there were like 8 people living there..
every now and then.. someone's girlfriend would crash there too!!
crazy.. but fun

Was the address 1127 Mechanic? I lived in an old two story that was right across the road from the college. Good crazy times day and night. Sounds quite similar to your experience. Very little heat, lots of crickets, a few holes in the walls and floors, and the KNOWN party house near campus.

Lol it was better (I thought) than sleeping in a truck in random places around town. Had been doing that for a while

it was fun...

found out .. because we had so many people there..
and so much traffic at all times of the day or night...
we had a reputation of being a gang!
that made us all laugh

My college days were pre gang days. We were just known to be handy and the doors were never locked. People dropped in all the time between classes. Either to kick back or some even studied. Music was always playing.. a game of spades was likely going on.. you knocked before going into any bedroom... five beds... three couches... two kitchens.. two baths... everyone was welcome. Some even kicked in for rent and eats... and refreshments.

The house was an old two story. Me and two buds rented the down stairs. Two gals rented the upstairs. The stairway between had been boarded up and the upstairs had an outside entrance. Over Xmas break, the pipes upstairs froze and the bathtub from up there fell through to the bath below. We pitched it out in the yard, removed the boards on the inside stair and we all just lived together.

Not knock dead hot.... Plenty nice and we were all about being accommodating. It all worked out. Rent and utilities was 155 bucks a month split five ways. The guys paying 35 and the gals 25.

One of my old roomies was in town last summer. He called and we went out and grabbed a burger and lifted a few brews together. A bit of the conversation was how are ya... what ya been up to stuff. Mostly we talked about that crazy year we shared digs. It was just that crazy.

Just got through with one. My roommate, who owns the house, brought in a mentally disabled 20-ish year old kid and let him stay with us for a couple weeks. Kid uses drugs, has been in and out of group homes, etc. I'm not a fan. He broke into our house at 3 am once last year and I pulled a gun, not realizing it was him.

He went through a metric ton of food over the couple weeks he lived with us, left an awful odor(smokes like a chimney and doesn't bathe, spent 24/7 on our couch). Ate all my food the entire time. Thank heavens he's finally gone.

I lived at my girlfriends (now my wife) house for three years. One of which I was on crutches for with an external fixator around my lower left leg. There was her Mum (I will never knock mother in laws, she is fab) her (much younger only a couple of years older than me) boyfriend, her brother his girlfriend(s), his best mate who left abusive patents at 17, and me. We had a blast, all got in like a house on fire, all got drunk regularly, all took turns cooking and er smoked substances only legal in Alaska, Colorado and Washington state. Ah to be 23 again.

That story reminded me of a buddy in high school. he was dating my other buddy's mother!!!
man that was just strange!!!! but we all hung out at her house.. and she fed us.
