For app development we have an Application Development forum, which would be a better place to ask about that. There's a sticky thread in this section addressed to app developers that has a link to the forum.

Well,
I just started doing the same.
I will give you a few hints....
go to YouTube and follow what Tyler Moore says and he will take you Step by Step with Word Press.
It is all free as far as the Tutorial goes. The host, ie, HostGator, etc.... will charge a small fee annually
there is a sign up charge, about $75 as I recall???
this is the one I am using, and it is powerful, does the job.
this is the one I started with, and then I switched to the one I mentioned above.
This one is extremely diligent with walking you through the setup process with the host, and getting Word Press going.... Listen!!! it will take a while for the DNS servers to recognize your new domain address.
it took me about 3 weeks to get to where I was moving around and being comfortable...
I highly suggest you watch what he says and watch it all the way thru.
Then, go back to the beginning and watch it again.
When he makes point, STOP! right there.
On a new tab, you duplicate what he just told you.....
Repeat, over and over.... his 3 hour Tutorial will take you a few days to get thru it the way I did.
it works, and looks great.
You are going to need a desktop PC with a decent monitor on it to do a good job.
and, I hope you are not color blind.
