Root creating a super rom

im going to start working on piecing my favorite things from multiple roms together. mostly stuff from vanilladroid and sense-able. im looking for some tips on this. really all i need is the files for the keyboard off of vanilla droid and im set and ill hopefully dump the rom and upload it. im using sense-able2.0 as my base and adding all the goodies from vanilla droid like the keyboard and deleting unimportant apps that i dont use.(stocks, vvm, weather) thanks for any input given and i appreciate it.
 
To me a super rom that would get a lot of attention is a very stable/clean yet FAST rom as a base, that people can easily create themes for. Don't add a lot of personal choices in apps (keep it simple), just get the basics down and let people add what they want. Stability and speed are the keys. Leave out all the live wallpaper stuff that doesn't run well on our phones!

Once you have the basic 2.1 rom in place, a lot of the fun is creating your own theme or trying others. I think we'll eventually see one like this, plus a choice with all the bells and whistles as the rom building know-how evolves.

There is a rom androids world I think it was called that had a lot of red in it. I used some of the red from that one and added to it to make a red and black Twilight theme for my wife's phone. Looks really good.

My wife really liked the bloody fingerprints on the dialer lol.....I also added a matching battery widget but I guess I didn't have it on the screen when i took the screenshots...
 
lol...thats funny.
but how did u change the dialer buttons, everytime i change them and sign them, the dailer force closes and it wont work at all.... which apk did u get into to change it?
 
Its in the htc dialer apk. I just edit them and drop them back in the rom, resign the rom not the apk and haven't had any problems. I changed files in almost every apk i believe. I used Ivan's latest .08t or something like that as my base. The call button is in a totally different place though I think it was in the framework or htcresources apk's.

Lol you got me...I did have to run it for a couple days to make sure I had it right since my wife isn't really the trouble shooting type...was still much better than the first rom I made for her which was all pink....I wasn't as excited to pull out my eris in the walmart when it was all pink lol....
 
i wasnt going to do anything with the themes really, something very simple i was going to just build and improve on sens-able 2.0. different keyboard and a couple other little things.
 
ohh could you make a vanilla rom like the droids that would be awsome Ps i really dislike sense but htc makes some pretty Bad ass phones lol
