Help Creating a Widget

I just installed Wifi Toggle so I can toggle wifi on/off from the home screen. The directions say to press/hold on an empty space on the home screen and choose Widget from the list and select the Wifi Toggle widget. With ICS, you don't get a widget option in the menu that pops up. How do I get this widget on the main screen? I have the app ico, but all it does is tell me how to create the widget. If I choose Apps and slide over to widgets, the program isn't listed there either. According to Google Play Store, the Wifi Toggle Widget is installed as I get an option to open or uninstall it. Choosing open takes me back to the popup that tells me how to install the widget on the desktop.
Thanks,
Monica

Go to the apps list button on the bottom of the home screen, pick widgets from the right side top of the apps.

Scroll through the widgets until you find the one you want, hold it and drag to the screen.

ICS is weird about shortcuts.

It sounds like that's not possible. :dong:

Try uninstalling it and reinstalling it. I've had that happen once or twice with widgets now on ICS. :)

It doesn't appear that that one is compatible with ICS.

My personal favorite is SwitchPro Widget (which you can add to the notification bar)

You may have to reboot your device. I've had to do that with a lot of my favorite widgets. Some will show up in the widgets section after download, while many of them will not show up unless I reboot my device.

What's strange is when I got this phone less than a month ago, it had a wifi toggle on the home screen. When I upgraded to ICS, it disappeared.

That was it! Thanks cdf3 :) I like this widget. It does a very simple job and looks good doing it :)
