Creating an event in my own calendar app android

Can anyone help me with source code for creating a calendar view in android where i can add my events for a particular day and i want to mark or color that particular day. Not a google sync calendar.

I have tried every calendar app in the Play Store.
Not one of them is worth a crap... I have uninstalled every one of them...

I have gone back to My Yahoo Calendar and have it send me emails when I need to be alerted.
Very sorry set of events, that Android cannot make a good calendar that can sync up reliably with Yahoo or other calendar.

either they will sync, or I am done with them.
