Creating Apps

I imagine you are interested in writting it in Java and not Adobe Air? Also what is your Java knowledge level? If you are really a newbie at it I suggest learning Java without the android API first just to get a feel of it. I found these great tutorials on youtube, he also gives basic android programming lessons. Otherwise the android developers page is a pretty good start they will explain layouts and how to get user events.

Hope this helps, enjoy

Thanks , I've looked around and think I may start with the extreme basics with google appinventor but its telling me to install the driver for my phone (htc desire s). It says it should be on the htc website but I can't find it. Any ideas?

I'm not too sure about app inventor I haven't really played around with it enough. But you might have to have the Android SDK to communicate with your device in development mode. Otherwise if it's actually asking for the driver from HTC this might be what it's looking for. If that doesn't solve the issue I don't really know.

Hope this helps

Now I'm being told to turn of USB mass storage mode , how do I do this?

Depends on your phone, if you plug your phone in to your computer you should get a little notification telling you how your phone is connecting to the computer. You can change it by touching that notification, you'll probably get some options to make your phone act differently through a USB connection, just select none or unselect mass storage.
