I think you can do this by connecting the phone to your PC and mounting then go to the folder DCIM , then simply create a new Folder , Drop your Pictures you want in it and that should work. You should now see that folder on your phone when you unmount your card

I use the Astro file manager app. let's you move photos around from folder to folder.
