Help CRT Animation - Anything other than Xposed?

Is there a way to modify the screen off animation so it's the CRT animation. I did come across an Xposed Module that works pretty well ([MOD][XPOSED][4.0+] ScreenOffAnimation v1.2 - Custom Screen On & Off Animation - xda-developers) however there's a bit of a delay when turning the screen back on. Additionally I have to press the power button or home button a few times before the screen will even turn on.
