Cthulhu games on Android

Cthulhu Saves the World just released on Android, joining another great Cthulhu title, Cthulhu: The Wasted Land a turn based strategy game.

I have Cthulhu Saves the World on Steam but have not play much, it is a great RPG in the style of old Final Fantasy NES and SNES games. I am going to be picking this up for the Android for sure.

CStW is comedy from the start and isn't afraid to poke fun at itself and the genre. Red Wasp's Cthulhu: The Wasted Land is a step in a whole different direction, it is sanity losingly serious. The graphics are great, the entire feel of the game is creepy and very immersive. The game is spooky enough to make you look over your shoulder at every noise.

After each successful mission you return to the team building screen which allows you to spend the experience your team accrued on the mission, as skills get higher they cost more to advance making field learning a much better option. You also have the chance to buy new gear to outfit your team. I do wish there was a chance to loot the bodies of fallen opponents.

The touch sensitivity for C:TWL is a bit lacking, I've found myself at times afraid I was going to push my finger through the screen. While purchasing equipment there is a bit of a touch dance you have to do that could be fixed with a simple purchase confirmation dialog box. As it stands currently you have to touch where you want the item to go, then touch the item and then long press the item (you may not need to touch the item before the long press, but that is how I do it.)

I have purchased C:TWL now for 3 platforms (iOS, Intel's AppUP on PC and Android) and playing it on my 10.1" tablet is by far my favorite.

Cthulhu Saves The World

Big news, RPG enthusiasts: Cthulhu Saves The World is hitting iPad, iPhone, Android, and Mac soon. Like, June 28 soon. Zeboyd Games and TinkerHouse Games have been working on these ports for what seems like forever, but the time was worth it. We can confirm that the iPad and iPhone versions, at least, are looking sharp and running awesomely.
