Help Custom Alarm sounds?

AMTrombley0924

So I'm really not a fan of the alarm sounds this phone came with. I've tried downloading new ones from zedge as notifications, but they don't show up in the alarm selection.

Does anyone know how I can use my own sounds files for my alarm? Whats the directory on the phone/SD card to do it? Can it only be done if I'm rooted?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I use Alarm Clock Plus. I simply recorded the sound I wanted with my phone. Then selected the recorded file through the app. Not sure if that will work on your phone.

Get ready to kick yourself. The folder should be named: alarms.

I use the following file structure on internal storage:

/media
---/image
---/music
---/podcast
---/sounds
------/alarms
------/notifications
------/ringtones

The keywords above are: image, alarms, notifications, ringtones. Not sure if music is one, too.

Run the My Files app and select Internal phone storage. At that level, create a media folder and add the subfolders however you want, including a notifications, ringtones, and alarms folder. I don't think you actually need a media folder at the top level, but I like to be organized.

This just worked for me on my Droid 3. Thank you!
