wait till he comes out with revision 3, yes you will odin the file. no this is kernel only, not a system image.

No more tr3 root hack!

I changed the System Re-mount to rw
You can now adb push Anything to /system or /data

This mean's YOU have Root via SH After Flashing, no more using Cat to Push something & No more running the Re-mount Command! Best Of all, we now Have Root without messing with try3 ( asroot ).. :)

But, I'm Packaging the Rom with Kernel Right now.

Not sure if I'll get it posted tonight... But, working as fast as I can to try & get it done ( Get er Done! ) lol sorry.

Erm trying to do that now but the ODIN said the kernel is invalid file once i select it under the PDA option. Eh?

If it says Invalid Image & passes the Checksum you're Fine to Flash... Trust me I have it on my Phone... I will never Post anything that Will Brick a Phone on Purpose... As long as the Start bar is able to be Push, the checksum passed.

It's mad because it's in a .tar & not in a .MD5 image is all :) It will flash just Fine :)
 
So it's worth noting for those crazy people like me that use WinRAR, you DON'T extract the file(s) from the tar that you download, the file that you download IS what you need. Too smart for my own good aparently - although I did finally figure it out :)
 
Works to Gain Access in the 1.6 Behold 2 Image... Will Need to Flash Latest Odin Kernel to regain a Working Phone, But does work to RooT!!!
 
Making an ADB enabled 1.5 Kernel edit.... Just encase somebody tries to port blur to BH2..

You should already have the .ops file... I didn't include it, as everyone should have it if using odin.
 
Umm, so I just did this, as I wanted to run Titanium Backup and now I have no service. Do I re-run Donut_R7.tar? (it's what I was running until pushing this kernal). I'm sorry, i just wanted to back up my apps. :(

NM, I did and it did. Course, I lost all my apps, but I figure this is better than not having a usable phone.

If you were running Donut_R7 you were on a different ROM which explains why your phone wouldn't boot. This was specifically for Android 1.5 (Cupcake). Donut is 1.6 and Eclaire is 2.x.

If you were running Donut R7 you should already have had root access, however there are few steps to ensure it's working. First, ensure that you have USB Debugging turned on (Settings | Application Settings | Development | Check the USB Debugging checkbox), then you need to launch Better Terminal (it's installed with R7). Once it's open click on the black part of the screen and type "SU" without the quotes and then press enter. Another window should then open telling you that an application is requesting root access. Click the "Always Allow" button and you should then have root access on your phone. Now when you start Titanium Backup you should also get a prompt telling you that it is asking for Root access, again click "Always Allow". At this point Titanium Backup should work as expected.

will updating the kernel erase my personal stuff like notes alarm clocks.etc. phone apps files? just asking ?
shud i update kernel i already have r11 but is the updated kernel worth it ?
 
thanks and you bare amazing.. i know u have a vibrant now and am super jelous lol but if you still check these bh2 threads i need a lil help, had 1.5 did the update root to 1.6 i thought , worked good but not as fast as you 1,5 stock bhman odin .tar one so tried the warhead but i must not have been at 1.6 , anyhoo i can get original bootloader to flrsh but not phone or pda to get back to factory, fone will boot but not load, so im pretty much stuck in download...anything you think i can do to get my phone be able to completely load up, dont really care if its rom or factory as long as i get my phone back..lol..would rather have ur rom really but hey i needc my phone,, plzz get back at me if you have the time..i understand if not.. thanks so much..!
