Help Custom icons

Hi, I was just wondering if you could tell/show me if it is possible for me to create my own images from my pc on either GIMP or photoshop and then get them onto my phone and use them.
Also, if this is possible, could you explain simply to me
If this affects it I'm using lancher pro.

Why yes, yes it is! First decide what you want to change, create the image (icon, wallpaper, resource or whatever)
After that read carefully

Thanks for the links. Unfortunatly I don't have a clue what any of that stuff means though . I don't even know how to get it from my pc onto my phone let alone then changing the .apk to the .whatever.
Il just stick to the normal ones, cheers
