Root Custom Kernel for LTEVO

Rxpert83

Dr. Feelgood
We have the first custom kernel (that I know) of in private release right now (not for public distribution). Those of you who know where to find chad and his amazing work on Anthrax know where it resides :D.

Out of respect for his policies I won't post a direct link to it, but you need be logged into the correct forum to see it.

(Hint: its NOT XDA. Really, its not. Seriously)

I seriously can't wait to try this. :D

I came across this today as well. Details were sparse, but I'll be interested to see what comes out of it.

Hopefully this is but the first of a few good kernels that really start pushing ROMs over the edge as far as true multi-tasking fixes, better efficiency, and getting AOKP and CM9 full-up-round.

Its still looking like the newest release is having wifi issues, but it hasnt been tracked down to what is causing it yet.

Looks like its probably due to the new firmware/base

If you were familiar with AnthraX on either the OG EVO or 3VO it was def a fully fledged custom kernel. At this point the dev doesn't have the device so development is slow as things get broken and its trial and error. I don't have the technical knowledge that you do, so whether the current build is officially a kernel I have no clue.

In other news, for those of you familiar with Ca1nes work on the OG EVO it looks like he is going to try getting something for us as well

Will be interesting to see where development heads w/ this particular kernel. One of the big selling points on the custom 3D kernel was the Beats integration, which of course is a moot point on our LTEvos now. As far as OC'ng/UV'ng is concerned, the provisions currently available for the stock kernel seem to be holding up well (I'm currently @ 1.863/584 ondemand, slightly UV'd w/ no noticeable lag or adverse consequences aside from batt drain).

In any event, glad he's on board w/ our devices, and definitely anticipate watching his work on AOSP kernels. Just hope the drama doesn't follow the development this time around!
