Custom Ring Tones not working

Update: I've found that I can use any of these ring tone files I loaded for a particular person by editing that persons ring tone from the phone app. I am not however able to see any of these ring tone files I added via the system ring tone menu.

I must be missing something simple, but I've read about 6 full threads on this here and can't get a custom ring tone to show up in the list of ringtones.

I have a 30 second audio clip on my computer, saved it in Mp3, and ogg versions. Also made copies with the m4a extension.

I placed the audio files in the directories as directed in this conversation. I've tried additional variations including adding a root level Ringtones folder. I've tried the folder names starting with a capital and without. I've rebooted the phone about a dozen times now.

I can play one of the audio files just fine via a media player on the phone or computer. However when I go to select the ringtime in the settings, it just never shows up.

Any guess as to what I might be missing?

Thanks;

Jamie
