Custom ROM recomendations

Hiya,

My rooted phone had a mental breakdown on Monday when I turned it on as it decided to install an update that I knew nothing about and dont think existed.... anyway cut a long story, everything is messed up so I've done a factory reset and its back working but am just wondering if it is worth playing about with a custom ROM?

The only things I really really want to work are
swype (which has not been reinstalled)
Adfree
and as good battery life as possible

At the moment its on
kernel siyah v4.1.5
Android 4.0.3

I am going to have to try something now as I have lost swype after doing a factory reset, the one thing I really cared about..... and I cant find it in google play store either.

I read that Swype is not in Neatrom Lite, but am I correct in assuming that it is in the full version of Neatrom?
I couldn't see anything that confirmed or denied this

Swype is available in Aroma mods though, so flash Neat Lite and then install Aroma 4.2

I have attached the swype apk if you want to just install that yourself
