Root Custom ROM w/Security Lock Timer

Hey folks, just got myself a D2 and need some help here.

To use my company email, I need to have a 'Device Administrator' which controls security policy on the phone.

With the stock ROM, I can set the device password timer under the 'Location & security/Security Lock Timer'. This timer sets (ie 20 minutes idle) when a device will require a password to unlock, this is different from the screen lock that requires just a swipe.

I want to install a custom ROM so I can optimize for battery life and other nice stuff.

I just tried the Liberty ROM, but it seems that ROM does not have a 'Security Lock Timer', rather it defaults to requiring a password once the screen lock (swipe comes on). This is rather frustrating as it is very tedious to have to enter a password every time I unlock the screen.

Does anyone know how I can enable this feature or know of a good ROM that has this feature?

Otherwise I'll just have to stay stock. Thanks!

I don't know for sure that it will help, but the app Battery Indicator Pro has a feature that disables the lock screen. Perhaps that would work?

I haven't tried this app... but most of the apps that disable the lock screen won't work on Froyo. It only works on 2.1 or earlier. I have tried many. Apparently Google locked up the password/security APIs and these apps don't work.

That's the main reason my corp email won't work on 2.1, they made sure the security isn't easily bypassed. Thanks for the suggestion though.
