I'm assuming that the big issue here is that IIRC T-mobile and/or the indiv. mftrs contract the wifi calling code from an independent developer [forget the name.... ] - they're very good at what they do. there's going to be license/royalty issues for that code, so its being ignored so as not to run afoul of hungry attorneys - which is the right thing to do. but wifi calling [yes via t-mobile] is indispensable to me - about half my total talk minutes on avg. i've not found nimbuzz et al ad infinitum good enough for real people as yet.
and, since the other carriers fought against wifi calling long and hard, those who make heavy use of the feature are probably in the minority in the vast sea of users
