Customisable traffic app?

[gloriousnumber1]

Is there an app out there, free or paid that lets me pick a route of roads and warns me of delays?

Even an app that at least watches where I'm going based on GPS and predicts what's ahead?

Any information would help!

^ Yes, Waze. Not perfect, but pretty awesome. Wish it used google maps, but you are able to fix any errors you encounter.

The native Google Navigation application also does this. Gotta think their traffic info would be better than Waze's.

To some degree, but in terms of "predicting what is ahead" I have to give waze a big edge, as it is user-reported. Things like police traps, debris or roadkill in the road etc. can all be reported on by anyone using the system and other users will be alerted.

Traffic updates both are based on users. I would definitely say that Google has the best traffic reporting in most areas (FAR more users), but in any reasonably populated area there are enough waze users to make it quite competitive and effective at the above-mentioned user reporting.

An app that would tap into the usability of google's nav system and user-base with the functionality of waze would be unstoppable.
